Synopsis
Young Chris Guthrie believes he can leave behind a past tainted by misery and abuse at the hands of an alcoholic father when she meets Ewan, with whom she shares a special bond with the Scottish land they both live on. Her happiness will be threatened, however, by the outbreak of World War I and its dire consequences for her family
