María Campaña Ramia holds a MFA in Documentary Filmmaking from the University of Strasbourg. She is a programmer at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam IDFA, with which she has collaborated since 2018. Previously she served as artistic director at the International Documentary Film Festival EDOC (Ecuador) and was a member of the programming teams of MajorDocs (Palma de Mallorca) and Ambulante (Mexico). María has curated festivals and showcases in Ecuador, Brazil, Colombia, and the United States. In 2015 she directed the short film DERIVATIVES. In 2012 she was a fellow at the Flaherty Seminar and co-edited the book El Otro Cine de Eduardo Coutinho. María writes for international journals and film publications and regularly cooperates with funds and institutions evaluating projects. She lives in Rio de Janeiro.
