Gabriela Martí is the director of the RIZOMA Film International Festival in Madrid which has been held since 2010. As a programmer, she selects unreleased international premieres and discoveries of new Spanish cinema, as much as musical, artistic, or educational programming. At the same time, she is responsible for bringing to the festival influential filmmakers such as David Lynch, John Waters, and Kelly Reichardt.
Besides RIZOMA, she developed, carried out and produced work for La Sexta in Spain, Paramount Pictures in Germany and France, Amazon Studios in Dublin, National Geographic in Peru and Bangkok, and The History Channel in New York. As a filmmaker, her first feature-length documentary, 20 AÑOS AMANECIENDO QUE NO ES POCO, was commissioned by José Luis de Cuerda and her first fiction short film (FIN) received several international awards before being broadcast by Canal + (Spain), PBS (USA) and IFC-Independent Film Channel (USA). Born in Sharon, Connecticut (USA), she has always lived between Spain and the United States.
