Synopsis
Many Chinese workers migrate to the growing cities of the East of the country, hoping to prosper. But in such an oppressive work environment, the meager reward of money leaves a bitter aftertaste, and every human interaction is tainted. Ling Ling, a 25-year-old woman mistreated by her husband, is one of those lost souls that appear in front of Wang Bing’s camera to silently denounce the problems of modern China.
