Synopsis
This antimilitarist drama tells the tragic story of Oshino, a woman shunned by society who marries a soldier returning from the front, Seisaku, hoping for a fresh start. Despite her deep devotion, she faces social rejection and her husband’s war trauma. As their love fades away, her desperate struggle for acceptance leads to tragedy. The film explores the complex power dynamics in human relationships with a haunting visual style by Yasuzô Masumura.
