Maider Fernández Iriarte is a filmmaker and director. Her work has been recognised and screened at numerous festivals and art centres – such as the San Sebastian International Film Festival, BAFICI, ZINEBI, Porto/Post/Doc, FIC Uruguay, Punto de Vista, Las Palmas, CCA Glasgow, among others. Her first feature documentary, JORDI’S LETTERS, premiered in the New Directors section at the San Sebastian International Film Festival in 2019 and won special mentions at the Alcances Festival, L’Alternativa and the Cinespaña Festival in Toulouse. It was released in theatres in July 2020 and was screened internationally at festivals such as Mar del Plata and Göteborg, among others. She has also made several short films and video installations, some as part of the collective Las chicas de Pasaik. Her latest short film, FE, won the Special Mention of the jury on its world premiere at the Málaga Film Festival 2022 and had its international premiere at BAFICI. She is currently working as a director on Lo de Évole.
