Magic Lantern has always been a section from the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria International Film Festival aimed to the child and young audience, with the main objective of transmitting the value of film as a cultural and artistic asset to the youngest public, beyond the usual commercial and leisure value that is normally conveyed to it. However, this section seeks to expand its perspective beyond ages, and unify films and training activities for all audiences under a unique denomination.
In this 19th edition Magic Lantern also offers four feature films that deal with the theme of film from different perspectives. The screenings will be complemented with workshops: Creation of cinema sounds or foley effects workshop and Rec.uencias: recreation of renowed film scenes workshop/contest. We have also organized the First Audiovisual Training Sessions with the aim of having an exchange of experiences and ideas between different entities from the audiovisuals that conduct training in the Canary Islands.
