The Driver and The Mechanic, no names, no conversation, just about enough to say whatever is necessary about the cars they love. Devoted in body and soul to their 1955 Chevy, to drive throughout South-Western USA, to race other drivers. Exceptionally, a girl has ingratiated herself into their world and they have met quite a character at a petrol station: G.T.O., the middle-aged man who best fabricates stories about his exploits. The last race, the last challenge is then decided on: to get to Washington. The winner will get the loser’s car.
