
Jafar Panahi is having breakfast in the kitchen and calls Mojtaba Mirtahmasb. They arrange to go to his house to “discuss some ideas” and he warns him not to tell anyone where is he going. This marks the beginning of a film that should not be a film, since Jafar Panahi has been barred from making films because “he mounted propaganda against the Islamic republic”. Using what is available for filming, Panahi joins hands with Mirtahmasb to put together a kind of homemade film which underlines the tension and anguish that Panahi is suffering while awaiting his sentence, in which we see his routine on the eve of the Iranian New Year.
