Manhatta

Considered to be the first American avant-garde film, MANHATTA is a meditative series of tableaus that document the look of early-20th-century Manhattan. Inspired by Walt Whitman's book Leaves of Grass and comprised of 65 shots, the film is assembled in a way that suggests a day's progression from morning to night.
