Born in Caracas, Duque studied journalism at the Universidad Central de Venezuela. Since 1994 he worked for the Latin American division of HBO as writer and director of reports on film. In 2000, he moved to Barcelona, Spain, where he joined the Master en Teoría y Práctica de Documental Creativo at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. He currently works as a filmmaker, programmer and teacher. In 2011, his film COLOUR RUNAWAY DOG was shown at the Las Palmas Film Festival.
